IMG_4800Week 37:

Baby Jordan Smith will be joining us next week on Tuesday, June 21st! With a few days in the hospital, we expect to be home Friday, June 24th.  Jordan is definitely on the move… suppose to count at least 4 movements per hour but he is knocking that our every 10 minutes – LoL 🙂

We have been busy setting up for baby outside of the nursery with sleepers, bouncers, rockers and more around the house for the dogs adjusted to with sounds and all.

Our biggest issue getting ready for baby has been the glider we ordered in April was scheduled for delivery in June but backordered until July and now just heard it won’t be here until August! Luckily when looking for an alternative and canceling the order the store offered to provide a loaner new in box. We now have our loaner (different style and color) home and setup in the nursery.  Also excited that the stroller and some final completion items have all been delivered this week.

Next project on the table while we wait, besides floating in the pool, is trying to meal prep so mommy and daddy continue to eat once Baby Smith comes home! Any meal prep suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

IMG_4789Week 36:

We have a date confirmed for when our Little Man will be joining the Smith party of 3!!!! We will be announcing soon once we have all the answers and details from the doctors but the date is on the books for a scheduled c-section!

Mommy is continuing to grow hour-by-hour, even getting stuck in some positions that need some assistance from daddy, either a hand or a nudge, to get out of – LMAO. Although I’ve been preaching that the water is the absolutely BEST place to be during pregnancy it is especially true as the weight of the belly and boobs continue to climb.

Daddy has been very busy on projects of building bookshelves, keeping mommy comfy (setting up umbrellas for all day soaking in the pool/jacuzzi, fans, fresh fruit and tons of cold water). Between the amazing baby shower gifts, hand me downs and completion shopping complete we have all the baby products stocked and ready to go, with the exception of the glider/rocker/recliner that is now late on backorder. This weeks goal is to get those hospital bags packed although it is so hard cause every time I start putting clothes in the bag I want to wear them – LoL

IMG_4788Week 35:

Well we got a curve ball this week at our growth ultrasound that Baby Jordan has had a growth spurt with estimating current weight to be 7.6 pounds putting him at 86% overall on the growth chart meaning we have a big boy on the way…. yes Darian and I look at each other knowing it isn’t height in his favor. All other tests came back great though with the outcome of extending the pregnancy to 38 weeks, past the 37 weeks we previously had. This is very exciting as most Type 1 diabetics only carry until 34-36 weeks before doctors decide to take baby out based on health concerns.

Mommy’s weight is still remaining steady but the size of the bump and his weight are continuing to climb. Had some issues with feet swelling at the end of 34 weeks but doctors say they actually look good and with lots of water in hand with elevated feet haven’t had any more issues.

Continuing to noticeably grow day-by-day we are happy to announce that everything is on track with our Little Nugget! As we are now adding an additional visit to the doctors office weekly for another test to ensure all is good (normal protocol for Type 1 Diabetes). Type 1 Diabetics typically have larger babies however at this time mommy’s tummy is measuring to be slightly under the gestational measurement, which doctors are very pleased with. Upcoming appointment next week, we will measure Baby Smith to see if the measurements match. And yes mommy is still working with ALL these visits to the doctor somehow.

Baby Shower hosted by Leslie Davis on Sunday was out of this world amazing and perfect nautical celebration to welcome Baby Jordan Smith! Yes that is right, we also announced the name, although we are still working on the middle name we have it narrowed down. Thank you to all those who attended to shower Jordan with love, gifts and mommy with words of advise! We are now officially equipped with all the gear, cloths, diapers (over 1,000) and baby necessities to bring home our little man! Darian took some photos with the “good camera” we need to get uploaded and shared but please share any you may have snapped with me via text message or hashtag #babysmith16 on facebook or instagram.

IMG_4434Week 33:

This week Baby Smith is about the size of a honeydew melon and estimating weight to be about 4.5-5 pounds. Mommy’s weight is slowly continuing to climb, as it should but the bump is growing like crazy, now measuring about 39 inches around at this time!

On Monday one of our weekly tests (NST) did not go well as our Little Man kept kicking the sensors so they could not get a good, constant reading. So in addition, we did some new ultrasound testing to check his development including his number of movements, heart rate, breathing and mommy’s fluid which after a long doctor visit all resulted with a test score of 8/8 or 100%  – YAY.

Nursery is almost complete… just need to hang some shelving and wall decor and then organize – LoL. Sooooooooo ready and excited for the Baby Shower next weekend hosted by Leslie!!!!!

CaptureWeek 32: Work Baby Shower!

Our little man is about the size of a bok choy this week or a summer squash since I have no idea what a bok choy is – LoL.

This week we started the twice a week non-stress testing (NST) to monitor Baby Smith’s heartbeat, heartbeat with movement and contractions. We passed 1 of the test but he was not cooperating with the second so we went in for an ultrasound to confirm the stats.

Mommy’s awesome team at iHeart threw an amazing Baby Shower with fun games testing baby knowledge (I passed – I think), snacks, advise and lots of diapers and gifts!

IMG_4035Week 31:

This week our little guy is really growing like crazy now, about the size of a coconut and weighing about 4.3 pounds based on doctor measurements. Mommy’s weight also continues to climb, as we are up 20 pounds so far. The 4D ultrasound shows our Little Nugget to have Daddy’s lips and Mommy’s cheeks with a full head of hair and confirming there is no doubt we have a little man on the way!

Mommy spent most of week 30 sick with a cold that’s still hanging on and no fun when medicine is off limits.

IMG_3954Week 30: Babymoon!

This our little guy is really growing measuring just over 17 inches about the size of a cantaloupe or cucumber and weighs about 3.5 pounds. Mommy’s weight is up 17 pounds so far which the doctors seems to be happy with and expect me to continue to gain about 1 pound per week for the remaining of the pregnancy.

While not any particular cravings, mommy is eating a lot more sweets than normal with yogurt, fruit and cool whip looking extra yummy.

Excited for the upcoming weekend getaway to celebrate mommy’s birthday and our baby-moon with plans in Orlando to float around a tropical lazy river pool. Possibly even a Diet Shirley Temple with extra cherries in the future!

IMG_4030Week 29:

This our little guy is really growing measuring just under 17 inches about the size of a pineapple or acorn squash and weighs about 2.9 pounds. Mommy’s waist is measuring 36 inches around at the belly button, OMFG. Mommy is also really feeling the extra weight now too. Our nugget is moving like crazy now too, to the point you can see the belly moving as he is rolling around.

Cravings have calmed down as there isn’t anything that is a daily must and even tacos aren’t tasting the same… they are still good, just not OMG out of this world, best thing ever anymore – LOL. Mommy celebrated a birthday and you know we are ready to welcome the little guy when Daddy is requested to stay home and cook his delicious steak rather than going out to dinner.

Nursery is getting closer and closer to a revealing with the construction and painting complete; and excited to say, the furniture has been delivered and setup. Time to start organizing, decorating and finding the perfect nautical touches!

IMG_3791Week 28:  3rd Trimester!

This week we graduated to the 3rd Trimester headed to the finish! Our Little Nugget is the size of a tropical coconut or eggplant at about 16 inches (growing about an inch a week) and weighing about 2.5 pounds.

Even though we are at high risk for additional complications such as preeclampsia the checkups are coming back with not just safe results, but the doctors are surprised by how well we are grading with things like blood pressure, protein in urine (TMI?), weight, overall swelling and A1C measurements! With that said we had another round of insulin adjustments, taking many more shots and more insulin per day than I was previously taking per week but… the struggling is worth it giving us GREAT results for our little man.

Nursery is coming along with beautiful refinished 1930’s wood flooring, 3 new power outlet locations, painted & trim with curtains and rug in place. Just waiting on that Pottery Barn truck at this time. Daddy gets extra husband reward points for all the work, time and energy he has put into Project Nursery!

IMG_3466Week 27:

This week our Little Nugget is the size of a bunch of bananas at about 15 inches (an inch longer than last week) and weighing about 2.2 pounds.

Mommy had one of those crazy pregnancy cravings that involved daddy dropping what he was doing and heading to the store… the hunt was very specific for gluten free waffles topped with butter, blueberries (yes still loving berries) and cool whip.  While the craving may not seem that odd, it is extremely out of character to where even Daddy said wow that’s weird.

Daddy’s baby dust in progress has been completed with replacing and refinishing the wood floors!!! Time For A Happy Dance 🙂 Also has added two new electrical outlets, replaced all the baseboards, scraped and sanded all the windows with a fresh coat (or two) of paint and ready for the furniture delivery this upcoming weekend! Nursery reveal with the remodel pictures coming soon. The fur babies have been “in training” to stop at the door until invited into the nursery and as you can see from the picture above are doing well with the new training… Love my boys! Yes, lots of explantation points in this update – LoL. That’s all for week 27… off to 28 weeks we go.

Week 26:

This week our Little Nugget is the size of a head of Iceberg Lettuce at about 14 inches and weighs about 2 pounds. Mommy is up 14 pounds so far and the doctors say that is right on target to gain 25-35 pounds… so far, so good!

We have been making lots of adjustments for our mans early arrival in June. Baby Shower details have been finalized, so look for an invite coming soon! He has been very active with lots of movement with my belly even moving at times with strong kicks. Little Nugget is most active in the evening after dinner which is perfect for Daddy to feel him on a daily basis too.

Daddy has been slaving away with the nursery getting closer to being complete with the damaged wood floor boards replaced, sanded, buffed and ready for stain! So exciting can’t wait to complete the nursery for Pottery Barn to deliver and set up the new nursery furniture. Tick-tock, tick-tock.

25Week 25:

This week Baby Smith is the size of a Cauliflower at 13.5 inches and weighs about 1 1/2 pounds.

Knowing we will be delivering early, the Doctors are now thinking about 36-37 weeks, putting us in the beginning of June not July.  As of this week we got some very exciting news that mommy-to-be is no longer on “light bed rest”. You have NO idea how happy this made us and verrrrrrrry exciting it was ti hear!!!!!

Mommy is still craving tacos (mostly), fresh mozzarella and fresh berries while the desire for V8 has calmed down. Daddy is still busy working on the flooring project for the nursery. The damaged floor boards are out and replaced. Next steps include sanding, staining, new base boards and then painting the walls! Daddy took some pictures of the growing belly that can be seen on the Bump Watch. That’s all for this week… more coming week 26!

24 smallWeek 24:

This week Baby Smith is the size of a Cantaloupe. So far mommy is up 12 pounds. and expect to gain about 1.5 pounds per week for the remaining of the pregnancy.

We had our first visit to Buy Buy Baby but only made it through the strollers & playards. It was entertaining to be a fly on the wall watching us struggle with the overcomplicated, flimsy playards with multiple pinched fingers BUT… we finally found one that is easy to operate and practical, thanks 4moms!  It looks like we need to make another

Mommy had a tiring week, almost like the 1st trimester, hope that doesn’t stick around.  Every morning and while watching tv daddy checks in with Little Nugget as he is bouncing away. Even our fur babies are now snuggling with baby as Luke and Gunner both rest their heads against the growing belly. That’s all for this week… more coming week 25!

23 smallWeek 23:

This week Baby Smith is the size of a Grapefruit at 11.4 inches and weighs about 1 pound 4 ounces. We had another big round of tests come back including a full echo and excited to announce that Baby Smith is checking out to be a rockstar! Measurements are all on track for ideal baby size and all organs are developed, now its just time for them to grow along with baby.

Daddy now can also feel little man moving around. This week plans on more work in the nursery and maybe our first trip to Buy Buy Baby… Wish us luck as we will have more updates coming soon!

IMG_2978Week 22:

This week Baby Smith is the size of a Papaya at 10.9 inches and weighs about 15 ounces. For the first time this week I felt him moving! Most movement is at night. Mommy is HUNGRY and craving tacos… may have been my lunch and dinner multiple times this week.

Daddy is in nesting mode as he continues to work hard in the new nursery with repairing and resurfacing the original wood floors. Gunner has started being cute with the belly with lots of sniffing and resting his head against my belly. Luke on the other hand, is clueless – LoL. That’s all for this week… more coming week 23!

Week 21:

21 smallThis week Baby Smith is the size of a Pomegranate at 10.5 inches and weighs about three-quarters of a pound.  The baby bump is on full display where strangers actually think I am pregnant now too! Still have not felt him moving yet, however every the ultrasounds show a little dancing man. Mommy is cravings V8, Fresh Berries and new this week is Mozzarella… I can’t get enough!

We are also started working on the nursery this week with emptying the room, soon-to-be Uncle Jason and Daddy adding a new power outlet for Mommy and replacing a section of plaster with new drywall. Although we have not selected the new color of Baby Smith’s nursery we have primed over the Tropical Aqua walls for a fresh start. That’s all for this week… more coming week 22!

Week 20:  We Are Half Way There!

20 weeks smallThis week Baby Smith is the size of a Banana at 10 inches and weighs about 10.5 ounces.  The bump is growing day by day, making getting dressed taking a few outfit changes. All the big test results came back this week and both Mommy & Baby are acing all the tests!!!

Have not felt him moving yet, however every ultrasound shows lots of activity. Mommy is cravings V8 & Fresh Berries… preferably strawberries and blueberries but anything that ends with berry is good. So far we have gained 7 pounds from the beginning. That’s all for this week… more coming week 21!
